Obama in Prime Time – - Is The Bloom Off The Rose?

According to a report from THR.COM TELEVISION, the broadcast networks are considering asking President Obama to curtail prime-time appearances. No change of heart ideologically, mind you;  the network execs are reported to be “seething” that Obama “has cost them about $30 million in cumulative ad revenue this year with his three primetime news conference pre-emptions.”

Too pricey for prime time?

This is presently a behind-the-scenes report owing to the networks fear of retribution (!!!) from the Obama crew.  According to THR:

“We will continue to make our decisions on White House requests on a case-by-case basis . . . ,” said one network exec, who, like all, would not speak for attribution fearing repercussions from the administration.

“If the president wants to make it tough for your network, he can,” the exec added.

Another network executive confided, “Nobody wants to take on the White House, so we’ll have to tiptoe through this.”

Yikes! Sounds like somebody has a few chickens coming home to roost!

The Fox broadcast network didn’t carry the most recent Obama presser, although it was carried on Fox News, incurring the wrath of Obamaphiles.  Fox is now credited by the other major broadcasters with setting a precedent which they may follow.

Gads!! But that OBAMA spends too much time on television.
His Teleprompter is getting old quidkly.

    Some advice for OBAMA.
    Give the voters a rest.
Keep off the television for a while!
Spend more time governing in the right way!
Give some credit to those that have good conservative views.
Whatever you do, knock off that ‘Volunteer Army Stuff’
(people are comparing it to the “BUND OF GERMANY’..UGH!

  3. tess: That’s good advice and Obama will not take it. His narcissistic personality demands constant attention and praise. Every time something adverse happens with his administration, you’ll see him “campaigning” and press-conferencing and doing whatever it takes to get adulation.

  4. Paul Zannucci says:

Turning the television off is a very tempting thing to do. Unfortunately, they are the masters of the staged press event (see flying Air Force One over Manhattan) ; )
