I must swallow my pride and approve of Donald Trump (don’t worry; this too shall pass), who announced yesterday  that Miss California Carrie Prejean would not lose her tiara because of the publication of revealing pictures.  I’ve seen some of the Prejean nude pictures and found them to be provocative but not at all lewd. So, good call, The Donald.

And let’s get real for a minute: we’re talking about the winner of a pageant where the attractive young female contestants all parade across the stage in rather skimpy attire (see picture at right).  There’s not a whole lot of Carrie Prejean covered by the approved bikini.

The underlying issue remains the same, revealing photos notwithstanding: Prejean has been attacked and maligned for telling the truth about her views on gay marriage – - which, ironically, are quite the same as Barack Obama’s stated views on the same subject matter.  As always, the American political left is intolerant of all who disagree with its dicta.

Perhaps this is my libertarian streak coming out again, but, hey, if you don’t want to see Carrie Prejean in skimpy attire, stop looking at the pictures. Besides, Prejean seems to be both pretty and personable, with a positive outlook on life. An easy prediction: Carrie Prejean will be remembered long after the public has forgotten the name of that repulsive troll who defamed her for her honesty.
