As you may have noticed between turkey leftovers, an unnatural disaster has occurred in the protected habitat of the climate alarmist. Following almost a decade of cooling and evidence that icecaps are growing once again, we learn that hackers have stolen almost ten years of emails from leading climate scientists, emails that call into question the integrity of climate science itself. From hiding evidence of ancient warming periods to the cherry picking and outright manipulation of data, there is much to be accounted for here.
The following is a rundown of some of my favorite articles on the subject and a great news video about the controversy.
* From the Atlanta Journal Constitution we have an article that begins by discussing the contradictory evidence of the last decade and states, “What was missing was a paper trail indicating that warmists were manipulating the exchange of information and attempting to silence skeptics. Until now.”
* From The Examiner, a fairly decent overview that pulls from the hacked missives the following admission from leading catastrophe advocate, Kevin Trenberth: “The fact that we can not account for what is happening in the climate system makes any consideration of geoengineering quite hopeless as we will never be able to tell if it is successful or not!”
* From ABC we learn that climate alarmists celebrated the death of a worthy opponent, calling the death of Australian John Daly “cheering.”
* From The Telegraph we have four great stories worth reading: Climategate e-mails sweep America, may scuttle Barack Obama’s Cap and Trade laws…Climategate: sack ‘no longer credible’ Michael Mann from IPCC urges climatologist…Climategate: the final nail in the coffin of ‘Anthropogenic Global Warming’?…and…Climategate: how the MSM reported the greatest scandal in modern science.
* From The Toronto Sun we get a nice rant, Worshipping at church of climate ’science’, which sums up the “science” of climate change nicely, “Science without a healthy dose of skepticism and which isn’t open to hard questioning becomes ideology. An ideology is a closed system that distorts or excludes empirical data to serve its dogma.”
* And, as always, it doesn’t get any better than at ICECAP, which has enough articles to keep you reading until you have to go back to work on Monday.
