Recent statements made by the National Organization of Women over the Super Bowl ad featuring Tim Tebow and his mother have me thinking that NOW is actually in favor of violence against elderly women. Why do I say this… well let’s watch the two following videos that aired during the Super Bowl:
Focus on the Family’s Super Bowl commercial with Pam and Tim Tebow
Snickers Super Bowl Commercial 2010 with Betty White
So what was said?
NOW president Terry O’Neill said it glorified violence against women. “I am blown away at the celebration of the violence against women in it,” she said. “That’s what comes across to me even more strongly than the anti-abortion message. I myself am a survivor of domestic violence, and I don’t find it charming. I think CBS should be ashamed of itself.”
Was that the intent of the ad? Did it really celebrate violence against women? Anti-Abortion? What, now people can’t tell their life story?
The fact that they said nothing about Betty White getting creamed goes to show what small minds are running the NOW organization AND of course it’s OK to beat elderly women. Of course, I’m being facetious when I say that … or am I. This is nothing more than another case of “we need to find something to complain about.”
The best part about this story is Focus on the Family did NOT show the ad prior to the Super Bowl to stir the pot of crazies. They got the reaction they expected and over an ad that doesn’t even address abortion at all.
Bravo!!!
